Pension Towers

A Landmark of Sustainability in Uganda with Smart Design and Efficient Performance

Pension Towers project is a Green Mark 4.1 Certified project, accredited by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore. The building consists of 4 storeys for commercial and retail purposes and 26 storeys for office functions.

This development is a Green Mark 4.1 Certified Building and the design team has set high environmental and energy efficiency standards for the building’s design and construction. The building includes novel features which will achieve efficient performance in the following categories.

GreenA Consultants’ Involvement

As the ESD Consultant, GreenA helped Pension Towers obtain its Green Mark 4.1 NRB Certified certification by advising on sustainable design and making sure eco-friendly elements were implemented.

Energy Conservation

Pension Towers uses low U-value and SC-value glass on its external façade, greatly reducing the heat transfer from the surroundings into the building, hence reducing the air-conditioning system energy consumption. The building also installed a VRF system as its main AC system for building cooling. The highly efficient AC system uses a refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential, reducing its environmental impact while performing in a highly efficient manner. LED is also installed for all areas to ensure sufficient internal lighting is achieved while consuming minimum electricity.

Water Conservation

Pension Towers installed water-efficient fittings in certain areas, achieving 10% water savings as compared to the normal water fittings.

Indoor Environmental Quality

Pension Towers uses low VOC paint approved by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards, minimizing the negative impact of internal paint on the occupants.
