The Keppel Sakra Administration and Control Building achieved the Green Mark 2021 Zero Energy certification in November 2024. This milestone highlights the building’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and energy efficiency. Equipped with state-of-the-art green technologies, it sets a new standard for environmentally responsible infrastructure.
Harnessing Solar Energy for 100% Offset
The building is equipped with solar panels expected to generate 566 MWh/year, effectively offsetting 100% of its annual energy consumption.
High-Efficiency Cooling System
An advanced cooling system delivers exceptional energy performance, boasting a total system efficiency of 0.64 kW/RT. This ensures optimal temperature management while minimizing energy usage.
Smart Lighting and Occupancy Sensors
Energy-efficient lighting systems paired with motion sensors are implemented in every space, ensuring lights are used only when needed. This reduces unnecessary energy consumption on lighting and enhances operational efficiency.
AI-Driven ACMV Demand Control
The building incorporates an AI-driven Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) system that dynamically adjusts cooling operations based on real-time occupancy and outdoor temperature data. This advanced system optimizes energy usage for ACMV while maintaining occupant comfort, ensuring efficient and responsive performance.
Low ETTV Façade Design
The building’s facade achieves a low Envelope Thermal Transfer Value (ETTV) of 25.4 W/m², contributed mainly from the double-glazed tinted glass and prominent solar shadings. This passive design minimizes heat gain, reducing the demand on cooling systems.
Advanced Building Management System (BMS)
A sophisticated Building Management System (BMS), equipped with submetering and an energy dashboard, dynamically displays key energy metrics. This empowers occupants to monitor and optimize their energy consumption actively.
