Fuchun Community Club has achieved the Green Mark 2021 Platinum certification with badges in Resilience and Health & Wellbeing. This recognition is a testament to People’s Association (PA)’s commitment to sustainability and our dedication to creating a greener, healthier, and more environmentally friendly space for our community.
Policies and Commitments
PA commits to a number of sustainable policies and commitments so as to operate the building in the most environmentally friendly way possible. These policies and commitments also apply to the tenanted spaces. These spaces will be controlled by a Green Lease, which will control all the actions that a tenant can take in their spaces in terms of fit-out works.
Energy Efficiency
Fuchun Community Club uses energy efficient LED light fittings. These fittings help to save 14% energy as compared to the conventional fittings. Sensors are also used in corridors such that lights are turned off when there is no motion detected. The roof has been retrofitted to be covered with solar panels to produce onsite renewable energy.
Health and Wellbeing
Health and wellbeing design for offices and community spaces aims to create spaces that promote visitor health, happiness, and productivity. This involves incorporating elements like ergonomic furniture to reduce physical strain, ample natural light to boost mood and concentration, and biophilic design features like plants and natural materials to connect employees with nature. Additionally, flexible spaces and quiet zones cater to diverse usage and provide opportunities for relaxation and focus. By prioritizing occupant well-being, the community club can foster a positive work culture and enhance overall building performance.
Resilience
The use of native plants and landscape in Fuchun CC offers numerous benefits. These plants are well-adapted to Singapore climate, requiring less water and maintenance, thus reducing the environmental impact. They also provide habitats for native wildlife, promoting biodiversity and creating a more natural environment. Additionally, native plants can help mitigate the urban heat island effect, cooling the surrounding areas and improving air quality.
