Clifford Center is targeting Green Mark 2021 Platinum Super Low Energy certification with five badges: Resilience, Health & Wellbeing, Whole Life Carbon, Intelligence, and Maintainability. With a GFA of 50,137.5 sqm, Clifford Center incorporates a range of sustainable green features, demonstrating a strong commitment to Energy, Carbon, Waste, Water, Embodied Carbon & Sustainable Materials, and Health & Wellbeing.
Energy & Carbon
Clifford Centre is a Green Mark 2021 Zero Energy-Ready building. The building achieves >40% energy savings in comparison to typical office buildings in Singapore. The project is also Singapore’s first LEED Zero Energy-Ready and LEED Zero Carbon-Ready building. Tenants are offered the unique opportunity to gain a competitive edge by differentiating themselves as leaders in the sustainability field. Clifford Centre significantly reduces its carbon footprint and aligns itself with the global campaign-Race to Zero. Clifford’s sustainability features include:
Waste
Clifford Centre is Singapore’s first LEED TRUE Waste Gold-Ready multi-tenanted building, targeting >90% waste diversion in alignment with Singapore’s Zero Waste Master Plan. The building empowers tenants to reduce, measure, and disclose Scope 3 emissions from waste generation. Additionally, it will host educational workshops, sustainable vendor fairs, waste audits, and green challenges to promote a collective Zero Waste commitment.
Water
Clifford Centre achieves > 50% savings in potable water consumption through the careful selection of efficient water fittings. All water fittings are PUB WELS 3 tick rated. Rainwater is collected at the roof and terrace levels through a siphonic drainage system and is used for landscape irrigation, thereby reducing the reliance on potable water.
Embodied Carbon and Sustainable Materials
The existing Clifford Centre was demolished in line with an Enhanced Demolition Protocol that requires a recovery rate of ≥ 40% of crushed concrete waste. Designed to minimize embodied carbon, the new development incorporates steel structural members, MET construction materials, and high-recycled-content materials. Interior fit-out materials were carefully chosen for their low environmental impact, SGBC certification, and verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Additionally, low VOC materials were prioritized to enhance occupant health and wellbeing.
Health and Wellbeing
Clifford Centre prioritizes indoor air quality with enhanced ventilation systems, air filtration, and strategies to minimize pollutants. Tenants can enjoy sky terraces featuring a diverse selection of native Southeast Asian shrubs and trees, offering spaces for respite and rejuvenation from the city’s hustle. Each terrace is thoughtfully designed to ensure physical and mental relaxation with optimal outdoor thermal comfort.
