As we begin 2022, the challenges of advancing green building sustainability efforts while living with the pandemic continue. At the first SGBC event of 2022, Forging Ahead Beyond COP26 Forum, we were delighted that our Senior Partner, Ms Farizan d’Avezac de Moran, engaged with an esteemed panel of eminent speakers, Ms Esther An (City Developments Limited), Ms Pamela Phua (AkzoNobel) and Ms Cheryl Lee (Singapore Youth for Climate Action) to reflect what are the key takeaways of COP26 and how it affects the way companies operate.
Here are some memorable highlights from the event:
- Focus during COP26
More build-up anticipation for COP26, with an increased focus on achieving net-zero and dedicating one full day to accelerate climate ambition for the built environment.
- The Voices of the Youth
Youths serve as an agent of change in addressing environmental issues and build bridges between research sectors and different stakeholder groups.
- Introducing New Innovations in Building Industry
Introduce carbon fibre composite as a carbon-capturing innovation and work in collaboration with external stakeholders to lower carbon footprint in our sustainable supply chain, both upstream and downstream.
It was a fruitful and insightful discussion and we look forward to the next SGBC event, forging ahead into a greener future!
